DUTCH OPEN 2004


The Dutch Open at Arnhem in August 2004 went to a sudden death play-off.  2000 Irish Strokeplay champion Ray Murphy Templebreedy), who made up ten shots on halfway leader Darren Collins (St. Anne's) over the third and fourth rounds won the coveted inaugural Dutch Open title with a par at the first extra hole.  The Cork pair had tied on 206, ten under par.  Bruff's Liam O'Donovan finished third on 208 with Alan Hanlon (Collinstown) next at 210.  Bruff's Pacelli Darcy made it five Irish in the top seven when he returned a 215 aggregate to finish behind Dutchmen Rolf Kwant (211) and Patrick Luning (214).  Other Irish Scores. 231 - Michael Lyons (St. Anne's); 239 - Finbarr O'Donovan (Collins); 242- Donal Duggan (St. Anne's).
