FIPPA Announcement
Members of EPPA/FIPPA associations wishing to play in non EPPA/FIPPA Opens
At the recent Annual General Assembly of FIPPA it was decided not to sanction those players who, in 2009, participated in competitions organised by associations which had previously renounced membership of FIPPA to found an alternative international Pitch & Putt organisation.
The FIPPA policy to dissuade affiliated players to play in non EPPA/FIPPA tournaments had not been made known sufficiently clearly to our players. Proper procedure should have obliged FIPPA to inform those players that they may not participate in FIPPA competitions within a year of having played in a non EPPA/FIPPA international competition. We advise the players concerned that the prohibition does not apply for the year 2009, and that they may, if they wish, participate in FIPPA competitions.
FIPPA reaffirms its belief that players should not be required to contribute to support two international bodies claiming governance of the sport. Players registered to FIPPA member associations will be individually reminded of the policy and the temporary sanction should they take part in any future international event not organised by EPPA/FIPPA.
Meanwhile the FIPPA policy (see below) as had been posted on the website remains in effect.
Only players affiliated to a member association of EPPA or FIPPA is entitled to participate in any international championship or international open held under the auspices of EPPA and/or FIPPA. Should a player affiliated to a member association of EPPA or FIPPA participate in any international championship or international open held under the auspices of an association (other than EPPA and/or FIPPA), claiming to promote international Pitch and Putt or organise international Pitch and Putt competitions, he or she will forfeit the entitlement to participate in any international championship or international open held under the auspices of EPPA and/or FIPPA for twelve calendar months from the date of participation.
