New Year Message from EPPA/FIPPA SECRETARIAT

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

With the festive season now well and truly over let me wish you all a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

You will have noticed, that this year there will be fewer international Pitch & Putt events. All the more reason that you are asked to help promote these tournaments. Remember that players who wish to participate in Opens, as indeed in the II World Strokeplay Championship in July, should register through their national associations. Names of players - indicating if in a junior, senior, ladies or general category should be sent to the association hosting the event. There will be prizes for the winners of these categories.

To facilitate the organisation and promotion of the Strokeplay Championship, associations should send to me the names of their nominated players by 15th May. Please also remember to ensure that chosen players actually accept their nomination. Obviously, in order to keep travel costs to a minimum, the sooner players can book flights to Santiago or Madrid the better. The latest update can be checked here.

Pending confirmation of our President, it is likely that FIPPA and EPPA will convene the 2013 Annual General Assembly to coincide with the Catalan Open early in April. You are invited to send to me any proposal you would wish to be discussed at our meeting. Specifically, it would be appreciated if any association should wish to bid to host the VII European Teams Championship in 2014. Any proposal should include suggested dates and the venue and sent to the Secretariat prior the AGM.

This year we can propose changes to our FIPPA rules booklet. Any proposals should be made in writing to the Secretariat before the AGM. A committee will then be appointed to evaluate the suggestions, which will pave the way for members to vote on any approved rule changes.

Finally, Associations and affiliated clubs are invited to have articles published in the international section of our magazine; Forat18. We would be delighted to receive any contributions.
