It was a Catalan 1-2-3-4-5 at Xixerella. Holder Enric Sanz scored a final round 51 on Sunday to tie on an eight under par aggregate of 154 with Roger Albinana. Roger Albinana also closed with a Sunday 51 but it was Enric Sanz who prevailed in the play-off at the 6th extra hole. Jordi Serra finished third on six under par after a closing 56. Gonzalo Mendoza secured fourth place on the countback after he finished level on 5 under par with Josep Martinez. Overnight leader Marcal More faded with a final round 58 to finish seventh.
Pilar Montero secured another international ladies open win. The Catalan stalwart posted a 54 hole total of 171 and that was seven clear of Gabriela Chavarria De Lorenzo and Marilyn Holmes.

Former three-time Catalan Open winner Marcal More took a one shot lead into the final round at the III Andorra Open. More carded 49+51=100 on Saturday to lie one clear of fellow Catalan Jordi Serra (49+52). Catalan Enric Sanz (the holder), one of the most successful international open players ever, Ian Farrelly (Ireland) and another Catalan Roger Albinana were three shots off the lead with Sunday's final round to go on 5 under par 103. The evergreen Pilar Montero (Catalonia) headed the ladies on 116, five clear of Marilyn Holmes (Catalonia) and Herma Kleinlugtenbeld (Holland).

There was a three way tie at the top after the opening round. Catalans Enric Sanz, Marcal More and Jordi Serra were tied on 49 (-5). That was a single shot ahead of Irishman Anto Kavanagh. 2011 winner Daniel Gimenez was on 51 alongside Gonzalo Mendoza. Ian Farrelly (Ireland) was poised on 52.
