Irish Ladies Strokeplay Championship 2010 - Pitch and Putt History rewritten
Geraldine Ward (Portmarnock) has equalled the all-time Pitch and Putt Union of Ireland record of Clare Keating (Woodvale). Clare Keating won fourteen Irish ladies championships between 1963 and 1977. Geraldine Ward won her sixth Strokeplay crown at Cunnigar (Dungarvan) on 11 July, having previously equalled Keating's Matchplay record with her eighth success at Stackallen in 2007.

Geraldine Ward fired rounds of 50, 48 and 49 at Cunnigar for a fifteen under par aggregate and a ten shot win over holder Tracey McGrath (Erry). Geraldine also boasts seven Irish championship runners-up finishes, demonstrating her remarkable consistency over a quarter of a century. Clare Keating was runner-up four times in her career.
Geraldine Ward was Irish Ladies Matchplay champion in '84, '85, '86, '90, '92, '93, '94 and '07. She was crowned Strokeplay queen in '94, '03, '04, '07, '08 and '10.
