First Beijing International Open
23 - 24 May 2009, West Palace Pitch and Putt course, Beijing, China.
As entries begin to filter through to the Secretariat it seems that there is a general preference among players from some countries to fly to and from Beijing via Amsterdam International Airport. Flying home from Beijing (to Europe) after midnight on Sunday, May 24th. proved to be quite unpopular, and more expensive than the Dutch airline KLM. Those who have already entered are booking flight number KL0897 Amsterdam - Beijing: departure on Sunday 17th. May at 18:30 hrs - arriving in Beijing on Monday morning at 9:50hrs. The return flight to Amsterdam is again with KLM, flight number KL0898, on Monday, May 25th. departing Beijing at 11:40 hrs. and arriving in Amsterdam at 15:50 hrs, Monday afternoon.
This means that players have opted to spend 7 nights in the Jade Palace Hotel, and travel in a more relaxed way. The updated programme of events.
Obviously, those of you from other continents, and indeed those of you living close to another international hub airport, may wish to make different travel arrangements.
I would ask you, however to promote this special week to launch Pitch & Putt in China among your members and players. I can assure you that our colleagues at the China Pitch & Putt Association will be tremendous hosts of a very historic Pitch & Putt milestone event.
