SWISS INTERNATIONAL SENIORS OPEN - CATALANS DOMINATE

Josep Fontdegloria of Catalonia won the inaugural Swiss International Seniors Open at the Verbier course in the Alps. Josep scored a three round aggregate of 175 to win by three shots over Andorra's Pepe Garcia. Fontdegloria and Garcia were tied for the lead after opening 57s. Fontdegloria shot a second round 61 to hold the overnight lead by a stroke and he closed with a 57.

Catalan champion Pilar Montero carded 186 to place third overall and finish top lady. Best Swiss return was the 187 recorded by Marcel Nicollier. Another Swiss, Eric Anderson, also fired 187 to win the Super Seniors class.

Swiss player Cathy Portier scored 165 to win the Best Nett by four shots from fellow Swiss Willy Nicolet.
