Congratulations to Meath Inter-County player Ian Farrelly who who fired 15 under par for 54 holes to win a rain-shortened San Marino Open at Cesenatico Golf Club on 9-10 July 2005. 2003 National Mixed Foursomes winner Ian Farrelly was followed home by two fellow Irishmen. French Open winner Alan Hanlon led after the first day and eventually finished second, a single stroke back. Another Meath Inter County player Anto Kavanagh was third on 5 under par
