DEEBLES DOMINATE SCRAMBLE CURTAIN RAISER

from La Grande Motte

The 2008 edition of the French Open got under way on Friday 25th April in glorious sunshine with the now traditional Am-Am sponsors event, a.k.a. the John Hudson Trophy.

Getting over 100 players from nine different countries assembled on the Mediterranean coast in La Grande Motte is no mean feat and several players were either late, early or not able to make it at all.

The winners of this just-for fun scramble competition were two players from Britain, John and Jamie Deeble, John, playing with three charming ladies just pipping Jamie by two shots on a commendable 13 under par.

Winners on 41: John Deeble; Florence Rosey, Francoise Abella and Marie-Francoise Tardieu

Second on 43: Jamie Deeble; Serge Granger, C. Sautejau and Nicolas Gubala

Hole-in-one : Nicolas Cantoux of France Boisson
