DUTCH OPEN 2014Final Leaderboard
Rolf Kwant's domination of the VII Dutch Open continued through Sunday at Orvelte. The Dutch ace took a five shot lead into the final round and added a seven under par 47. That gave Rolf a 25 par under par 54 hole aggregate of 137 and an eventual eight stroke margin over Ireland's Ray Murphy, who had previously won three Dutch Opens and former 2 time Irish Open champion Damien Fleming (Ireland). Fleming (finishing third in this event for the third year in row) closed with a 49 for his 145 total while Murphy carded 48. Dutch player Marcel Ahuis fired a Sunday best 46 to place fourth on 145, just ahead of Ireland's Trevor Ahern.
The top two ladies produced last round play of the highest quality. Trailing by four shots starting out, Herma Kleinlugtenbeld, winner of this title in 2009 and 2010, sparkled with a 49. However, Esther De Schiffart returned an impressive 51 to add the 2014 Dutch Open to her previous wins in 2011 and 2012. Ireland provided the senior and juvenile winners. Mick Keenan (Ireland) took Over 55 laurels on 165 while 175 won the Under 16 category for Cian Murphy.
