Course of the Month - Cane Patch, Myrtle Beach, SC, USA.

Myrtle Beach in South Carolina is one of the major centres of tourism in the United States because of the city's warm subtropical climate and a superb continuous stretch of beach known as the Grand Strand. It has been called the "Golf Capital of the World" because of the 100 golf courses located there. And it's not just golf. There are a number of fine Pitch and Putt courses, not least of which is Cane Patch, on the north end of the beach.

Designed by leading architects, Ault Clark & Associates, the 18-hole course measures 1,200 metres. Streams and lakes wend their way through the property. Beautiful trees provide welcome shade in hot conditions. The 4th on the Yellow nine measures 82 metres. On the same nine, the 9th is a tricky 55 metres. The staff is super friendly, and the price is a very reasonable $15 for nine or $20 for eighteen. Floodlit night time golf is available in season.

The first on the blue nine is a straight away 82 metres to a green that slopes from left to right. Water lurks behind the green on the 80 metre 9th.

The adjacent driving range and practice facilities include 51 driving bays, a chipping green and a putting green. This facility offers free club rentals.
