Course of the Month - La Rosaleda, Puerto de la Cruz, Canary Islands.
Our Course of the Month feature has taken us to many parts of the globe and to a wide variety of courses.
This month we take a journey to one of the most beautiful and exotic Pitch and Putt courses in the world, hidden away in the Atlantic Ocean on the volcanic island of Tenerife - part of the Canary Islands group.
The La Rosaleda course at Puerto de la Cruz enjoys one of the most scenic locations in our sport, overlooking Puerto de la Cruz and the Atlantic Ocean on one side, and the volcanic majesty of Pico del Teide in the background.
The course itself, set on highly terraced slopes and surrounded my market gardens, is a sub tropical feast - lush , overgrown surrounds encircle each of the challenging holes.

And challenging it is...
the terracing ensures that every tee shot must be accurate or your next shot can be from a very difficult position, as we can see from the photo below.

La Rosaleda is one of the founding clubs of the World Interclub League and hosts a regular series of tournaments that are very popular with the locals. There is obviously also a strong sense of community that develops when one lives in such an isolated location and the Canary Islands climate allows for plenty of after game socialising in the outdoor dining area.

La Rosaleda is definitely one course that should be on your list of courses to play. A magnificently challenging 9 hole course set in a stunning location - hand in hand with a friendly atmosphere.
