Course of the Month - Utsikten, Kvinesdal, Norway

Utsikten Hotel oozes luxury and sophistication and is set in a landscape of natural serenity and breathtaking views. The hotel is situated centrally between Kristiansand and Stavanger, within easy reach of some of South Norway's most attractive areas including Mandal, Flekkefjord, Knaben and Lindesnes. The 85 guestrooms have been designed to offer luxury and comfort and Utsikten is the perfect setting for conferences.

The adjacent Kvinesdal golf club was voted "Best golf course in Norway" in 2007, and it's not difficult to see why. A 9 holes championship standard wooded Pitch and Putt course is set in the natural surroundings of a mountain. There are stunning views of Kvinesdal village below along with the rivers that run to join the ocean. A round of Pitch and Putt here is truly relaxing, unique and unforgettable. There is also a full 18 hole golf course.

From the perfect tees to the lush fairways and true rolling greens, Kvinesdal club has placed quality and service at the heart of their courses. The course is open from April to November.

The Pitch and Putt course is challenging, but requires no previous experience and is perfect for beginners.

Other services provided are a driving range with clear targets and our PGA professional Proshop, simulator, lessons, golf carts and electronic scorecards.

The pro shop is managed by Pal-Rune Kristoffersen (who is always at hand to help), the resident PGA professional since 2004. Here you will find a comprehensive range of golf equipment, accessories and clothing from the leading brands like Callaway, Titleist, Cobra, Footjoy, Galvin Green and Nike as well as some new equipment producers, giving a greater choice of options. Whatever the enquiry is, Pål-Rune's game and equipment knowledge will prove invaluable. Pål-Rune will happily devise lessons specific to particular abilities and goals.

For the winter months, the hotel boats an indoor virtual golf simulator from High Definition Golf. Enjoy some of the world's finest championship golf courses including Pebble Beach, Pinehurst and many others, captured in spectacular High Definition.
