Course of the Month - Vallromanes, Catalonia.

The complex consists of 2 courses, an 18 hole (par 54) with a length of 1,449 metres and one 9-hole (par 27) with a length of 822 metres. The holes vary in distance from 45 metres to 120 metres. Vallromanes also has an additional 18-hole layout that meets the EPPA (international) norms and standards, with a total length of 1,200 m. All kinds of obstacles as well as strategically placed bunkers and lakes meet the needs of players, novice and experienced alike.

Vallromanes opens up with a short hole (by Catalan standards), where you must be precise. The green is tricky, especially if the flag is at the bottom-left. A bunker guards the green entrance on the left. Index 18, but no pushover. Rather like the 17th at Augusta, the 8th hole (62 metres) may have been more difficult previously. Once there was a big tree in front of the green. That tree is no more and the hole is less complicated. The bunker short shouldn't hinder the competent player and the green is relatively. Some rough right of the fairway may pose a question or two.

Vallromanes boasts a floodlit driving range (30 bays, 15 of them under cover), lights on 9 holes of the course, a teaching facility, rental equipment, an equipment shop, a Terrace Bar and the CAN Maimó Restaurant. The 72 metre 11th is the Lake Hole. It is difficult, but maybe more for the influence of the water than any other element. The green slopes back to front, which makes some recovery chips tricky, but probably a birdie chance for the top players. Par is considered a good result at the 80 metre 16th. There's a gaping bunker front left and the green slopes sharply from left to right.
